Support for studies
Turku UAS students are offered a wide range of services that support the smooth progress of studies, the development of expertise and student well-being. We educate prospering experts. On this page you will find guidance and counselling services that support your study.
Guidance and peer support
Your primary contact in a study programme is often your tutor or the students in charge of the group.
Tutor teacher
Tutor teacher is the student’s primary contact in matters related to studies. The tutor teacher guides you in planning your studies and other practical matters relating to your studies and also supports you in problematic situations and suggests a way forward. In some degree programmes, your tutor teacher is also the supervisor of your practical training. You will meet your tutor teacher regularly and discuss the progress of your studies together.
The name of the tutor teacher can be found student-specifically in Peppi (Student’s desktop: Student’s information: Study information)
VIP students, peer tutors and mentors
First-year students select trusted VIP students amongst their arrival group. VIP students are trained in their duties and operate as contact persons of the teacher tutors and study counsellors in matters related to student well-being.
Foreign students get guidance and support in their daily life from Peer tutors (for degree students) and International Student tutors (for exchange students). New students meet their peer tutors at the start of their studies.
