A Selection of Six Courses
The studies available consist of the Basics of Sustainable Tourism (1 ECTS) and the Specialist in Sustainable Tourism module (5 ECTS). Each individual course consists of 1 ECTS studies. You can complete the entire module (1 + 5 ECTS) or individual courses.
The online mode of studies allows participation at your own pace.
Basics of Sustainable Tourism, 1 ECTS
On the first introductory module, Basics of Sustainable Tourism, you will ensure that your background knowledge is sufficient to complete the course of study. The module provides a good overview of sustainable development in the tourism industry, and also serves as an introduction to the topic. We recommend you to start your learning journey by completing the Basics of Sustainable Tourism.
Specialist in Sustainable Tourism, 5 ECTS
When you master the basics of sustainable tourism, you can continue the studies with the Sustainable Tourism Specialist module. This module consists of five (5) courses. Thus, the total scope of the study module is 5 ECTS. You can select any five of the following courses, or complete them all:
- Local Culture and Traditions 1 ECTS
- Sustainability Communication 1 ECTS
- Partnerships and Stakeholders 1 ECTS
- Accessibility and Diversity 1 ECTS
- Productization 1 ECTS
- Social Impact Assessment 1 ECTS

Demonstrate Your Competences with Digital Open Badges
As you develop your expertise in the Specialist in Sustainable Tourism module, you will receive a digital open badge after completing each course. After completing a minimum of 5 ECTS, you will receive the Specialist in Sustainable Tourism badge. You can add the Badge to your OpenBadge Passport.
The badges serve as a digital credential for mastering sustainable tourism, which is a prerequisite for proactive and successful tourism activities.
A badge is also awarded for completing the introductory course Basics of Sustainable Tourism.
