Blended education is suitable for you who already work professionally as a visual or photographic artist but need a university degree in the field. The degree programme focus on deeper artistic work instead of basic skills and knowledge. Therefore, we require applicants to have previous experience of the artistic activities of a photographer.
We recognise your previous competence as part of your degree, so it is possible for you to graduate as a photographic artist in less than two years.

Study contents
The studies are implemented as blended learning in accordance with the personal curriculum, mainly as distance learning. There are contact teaching periods of a couple of days 3–4 times per semester.
Studying photography is practical. The studies include, for example, workshops related to different methods and themes, artistic projects and practicing professional practices. Learning assignments corresponding to the profession develop one’s own expression and learn different ways of working in contemporary art.
This degree programme is conducted only in Finnish.
