Educating experts in Dental Technology

In the oral health care in Finland, the work of dental technicians who have graduated from the University of Applied Sciences is profiled in the design and manufacture of various dental prostheses, such as full and partial prostheses, crown and bridge prostheses, and orthodontic devices in cooperation with other dental care personnel.

After graduating, you will work as an expert in dental technology as part of the oral health care team, responsible for the technical implementation of individual prostheses manufactured for each patient. This requires you to have good digital skills in addition to manual skills, as well as creative problem solving, planning, and interaction skills.

Turku University of Applied Sciences is the only educational institution responsible for the education of dental technicians in Finland. Graduate dental technicians are employed in dental laboratories all over Finland, and thus applicants are also desired from all over Finland.

The degree programme in Dental Technology is part of the national oral health care education and competence cluster, which means excellent opportunities for multidisciplinary collaboration already during studies. The cooperation is carried out with dental laboratory assistant, dental hygienist and dentist education as well as health service organizations in the area.

This degree programme is conducted only in Finnish. Read more and see the application instructions on the Finnish site.
