Our graduates usually work as biomedical laboratory scientists in a healthcare laboratory. They take blood tests from patients, guide patients in the preparation of blood tests and examine various laboratory samples. They also work with other healthcare professionals to provide laboratory tests required for patient care.
During the studies you will learn about human anatomy and physiology, the role of different laboratory tests in the diagnosis of diseases and the monitoring of patient care, and the quality and reliability of laboratory tests.
In Turku UAS’ degree programme in Biomedical Laboratory Science, you’ll study in modern facilities at the heart of Turku’s health expertise on the Kupittaa campus. The learning environment is a service laboratory, equipped with state-of-the-art equipment and facilities. In our own laboratory, you will learn key skills by providing sampling and analysis services to a variety of client groups.
