Information Security and Cybersecurity Governance model for Operational Technology Environments of the Finnish Maritime Cluster Actors

This handbook takes the reader to the heart of the maritime cluster’s operations and provides a comprehensive guide to managing information and cyber security in operational technology (OT) environments. The broad field of the maritime cluster – shipping, shipyards, shipbuilding, port operations, logistics and maritime traffic management – is a critical component of national and international security. This handbook provides practical solutions to ensure this security.

With digitalisation, information and cyber security has become increasingly important, and this handbook clearly explains how standards and regulations can be applied to OT environments in the maritime cluster. It provides detailed guidance on risk identification, assessment and management, through practical examples.

It also presents a governance model based on management commitment, covering security policy, access management, physical security and continuity management. It also highlights the importance of supplier and supply chain management and provides concrete guidance on supplier assessment and control.

The handbook will not only help maritime cluster operators to protect themselves from cyber threats and ensure business continuity, but also increase the confidence of customers and stakeholders in the organisation’s ability to manage information and cyber security. This handbook, produced in collaboration between Turku University of Applied Sciences and Fintraffic, is an essential tool for anyone who wants to ensure the security and continuity of their operations in a digital world.
