Turku Innovation Centre of Additive Manufacturing, TICAM

Developing collaboration of HEIs and SMEs in the field of additive manufacturing
A modern 3D printer is printing a metal turbine. The future of machine part manufacturing.

The project will focus on building the skills and collaboration of Universities and SMEs in the field of additive manufacturing (i.e. 3D printing) in Turku Region. The aim is to create Turku Innovation Centre of Additive Manufacturing (TICAM). The innovation cluster will cover the main applications of additive manufacturing in bio- and dental medicine, pharmaceutical industry and machine technology. The project will also deepen the knowledge and understanding of materials and structures used in 3D printing and increase SMEs’ digital skills in additive manufacturing.

Project is carried out as a group project between Turku University of Applied Sciences (Turku UAS), University of Turku and Åbo Akademi University. Turku UAS is the project coordinator and main developer of the group project and cooperates seamlessly with University of Turku and Åbo Akademi University.
