The PROCON project aims to foster innovation in nursing homes, specifically in promoting modern continence care for residents. This will be achieved through cooperation and knowledge exchange among five labor market actors, four higher education institutions, two vocational education and training providers, one non-governmental organization, and one affiliated research institution.

The project consists of six work packages. It will focus on innovation, technology, and entrepreneurship in healthcare and nursing homes by producing a framework of recommendations to boost innovation and entrepreneurship, a new technological solution to enhance continence care, and a multidisciplinary co-created course on innovation and entrepreneurship in healthcare. Additionally, the project will enhance new skills and address skill mismatches by co-creating courses for healthcare professionals and students on resilience skills, flexible work practices, and continence care in nursing homes.

A multinational pragmatic study will be conducted in Spain, Finland, Canada, and Belgium to pilot the PROCON educational program in nursing homes. Virtual communities of practice, a toolkit for continence care, and policy recommendations for continence care in nursing homes will be co-created in the project.
