Mobile Documentary Project Malaysia and Finland – Combined Methods for Learning Diving Experience

The Learning Diving is a combination of experiences related to learning, deep understanding and personal and professional growth. Learning diving as a pedagogical framework emphasizes students as active learners in new and special situations, where they should achieve their aim and learn a lot in a very limited time. This method is particularly suitable for multicultural student workshops and is a good foundation for development of one’s skills and abilities in his/her later position as a professional and academic.

During the workshop students gain knowledge how to apply design thinking tools and methods to more traditional way of producing content. Film making traditions combined to modern service design thinking confirms students professional skills and competencies. In addition students learn how to manage complicated subjects and how to work as self-directed (while professors being enablers, directors, coachers).

In the end of the workshop students prepare feedback for themselves, fellow students and professors. Different facilitation methods are used to gain sincere feedback. All the materials gained through the workshop week are left for the receiving University for further use.
