The Remote Wellbeing project will design, develop and pilot a training model for acute staff providing remote assessment and In the FeelWork-project, a training model for acute care personnel conducting remote assessment and counseling will be planned, developed and piloted. The project has three main objectives:

  1. to develop and pilot the FeelWork-training model, which promotes the competence and well-being of acute care personnel performing remote assessment and counseling,
  2. to increase the management of the physical and psychosocial risks of the work of acute care personnel performing remote assessment and counseling, and t
  3. o disseminate good practices in supporting the well-being of acute care personnel performing remote assessment and counseling nationwide in Finland by producing an openly available training model.

In the FeelWork-project, acute care personnel will be interviewed, and based on these interviews and literature summary an information package will be compiled on the burden and resource factors, as well as possible support needs, of acute care personnel performing the remote assessment and guidance. In addition, FeelWork-questionnaire will be developed based on the interview material and literature summary. This questionnaire will enable to assess the ability of acute care personnel to manage physical and psychosocial risks of their work.

The project organizes co-development workshops, where the target group (nurses and paramedics) are creating ideas and content to support their competence and work well-being with the help of different service design methods. In accordance with service design thinking the content and methods will be created together with acute care personnel. These workshops will enhance the competence of the participants and support peer learning and joint development. After the workshops, a summary of the methods and contents that best support the competence and well-being of the acute care personnel performing remote assessment and guidance will be created. The results of the workshops will also serve as the basis of the FeelWork-training model created in this project.

FeelWork-training model will be piloted during the project. The ability of the acute care personnel to manage the physical and psychosocial risks of their work will be assessed both before and after the pilot with the FeelWork-questionnaire. Written feedback collected from the piloting will be compiled into a summary, which will be used to finalize the training model. After the finalizations, FeelWork-training model (3 ECTS) supporting continuous learning will be published as a non-stop implementation in a digital learning environment.

To disseminate the results, the FeelWork-project organizes webinars for the project’s target group and indirect target groups. Representatives from all welfare areas and all Finnish universities of applied sciences are invited to the webinars to spread the created training model more widely. In addition, the project publishes blog posts and professional publications to disseminate the results.
