Data for the foresight use

The aim is, among other things, to create a model that compiles and provides key foresight information in an easily usable form on a data platform. The starting points are the needs of the county’s educational institutions, the ecosystem of continuous learning and the foresight information of employment areas.

The plan includes the specification of the necessary foresight information, the implementation of a user-friendly information platform, the necessary technical arrangements. The ultimate motive of the project is to promote the provision of future experts to the region to meet the needs of the ever-changing working life.

The target groups of the project are: staff responsible for teaching and training planning in educational institutions, those in need of forecasting information on employment areas, other parties that make knowledge- and education-needs foresight and utilise knowledge, Experts working within the scope of the Southwest Finland Academy of Anticipation and the JOE project

The project will also benefit more generally those involved in regional forecasting. The activity also participates in national discussions on the topic. In addition, competence foresight information is also useful in individuals’ own decision-making concerning education and career choices.

The project ensures that the target group of the project has access to relevant foresight information in a usable and user-friendly form from a common platform. This enables the target group to use fresh and easier predictive information, which in turn supports the design and development of training and educational products that meet future competence and training needs.

Total project budget € 120,000. Funding starts 9/1/2025 & Funding ends 2/28/2027.
