A pedagogic mobile game to teach kids fire safety was developed during project Virpa2. The game, Virpa – Fire Expert is available in mobile stores, and it has received excellent feedback from fire safety experts and educators. The user-experience research demonstrated the ability to teach the necessary knowledge, skills and attitudes that young students need to have. Furthermore, the game succeeded to increase the interest of kids towards fire safety signs in buildings, like those existing in their own schools.
The main objective of Virpa3 project is to get more kids to play the Virpa – Fire Expert game and learn from it. The actions focus on designing and implementing the effective marketing and dissemination campaign. The campaign is targeted to the personnel from fire departments and school teachers in charge of teaching fire safety to kids.
