CSG (Cybersecurity governance of Operational Technology in sector connected smart energy networks and operational technology)

We focus on finding ways how to improve the cyber security of OT networks

CSG-project (Cybersecurity governance of Operational Technology in sector connected smart energy networks and operational technology) will be done in collaboration with University of Jyväskylä and company partners. In this project we are focusing, how OT network cyber security can be improved. OT network means for example factory environment, electric power grid network or autonomous boat remote operation center and the boat itself. Turku University of Applied Sciences (Turku UAS) research target environment is TUAS’s remote operated boat and the remote operation center.

Turku UAS is researching as it’s research objective the use case Proactive security assurance and cognitive support, which means to measure OT CSOC operators cognitive load and find methods to support the operator. In addition to this we research cyber focused digital twins and how OT environment’s vulnerability, threat intelligence and incident reporting can be shared. Prototype User Interfaces are researched to support the SOC operators cognitive load and situation awareness. An additional objective is to research an Operational Technology governance model.

Applied research means creating demos related to different cases. Work is done mainly together with University of Jyväskylä. Company partners are supporting with their knowledge and insight in different use cases.
