An attractive cancer centre of the future VETÄVÄ
Duration of the project
Source of funding
Occupational Safety and Health Fund
Total funding
250 000 €
The project is based on cancer as a public health challenge in a changing social and health service system. The need for new excellence in cancer care is increasing in proportion to the increase in demand for care. The attractiveness of cancer centres as employers will become increasingly important.
On the other hand, the well-being of cancer care specialists already in the workplace is an essential part of the commitment of skilled staff to long-term and goal-oriented work throughout their long careers. Cancer care units are a particularly challenging work environment for coping/well-being at work and working there requires specific skills. The care of cancer patients is based on a multidisciplinary approach in which the professionals involved have a common goal.
Objectives
The aim is to increase understanding and generate new knowledge on the relationship between multidisciplinary collaboration and professional empowerment and how to foster them for future attractive centres of excellence in cancer care, providing client-centred services and improving the quality of cancer care.
The project will produce a new tool for evaluating the effectiveness of development projects that promote multidisciplinary action in health care. The project will generate new knowledge and understanding of the link between multidisciplinary collaboration and professional empowerment in multidisciplinary health care staff, here in specialised cancer care units, and test and develop development interventions to promote them simultaneously.
