Music students from the Academy of Arts and Turku Conservatory perform Sigyn’s Sinfonietta
Sigyn Sinfonietta is a symphony orchestra consisting of students from the music programme of Turku University of Applied Sciences and Turku Conservatory, which works periodically under different conductors. The Sigyn Sinfonietta offers students the opportunity to study orchestral music with major orchestral works.
On its Baltic tour, Sigyn Sinfonietta has performed in Tallinn, Riga and Vilnius. The orchestra was first introduced to opera as the orchestra of Mozart’s opera The Magic Flute. Previous conductors include Henri Sigfridsson, Tibor Bogányi, Juha Kangas, Jan Söderblom, Tuomas Rousi, Pertti Pekkanen, Arturo Alvarado, Marko Autio and Anna Rombach, Davud Claudio and Robert Kwiatkowski, Matti Koponen and Elisar Riddelin.
