Chemical-Wise Construction Breakfast Series in Spring 2025

Welcome to participate in the morning coffee series organized in spring 2025. The series addresses harmful chemicals in construction and building materials, as well as models to reduce exposure to harmful substances.

The series is intended for project owners and implementers, designers, architects, and others interested in the topic.

The series consists of four morning coffee sessions, each with a different theme:

On Tuesdays from 9.00 to 9.45

• April 15 – What makes a substance harmful, what are the health and environmental impacts of substances?
• May 6 – Harmful substances in building materials
• May 27 – Models to reduce exposure to harmful substances
• June 17 – Reducing harmful substances in construction: the Helsinki case

The morning coffee event will be held remotely and will consist of a 30-35 minute expert presentation, followed by a Q&A and discussion.

The Chemical-Smart Construction morning coffee series is organized by Turku University of Applied Sciences and the City of Helsinki as part of the international Interreg Baltic Sea Region -programme co-funded NonHazCity 3 project.
