Starting your studies

1

Register your Turku UAS user ID

Please register your user ID before starting your studies by authenticating yourself on the ID Service.

Your username, student number and email address will be displayed at the end of the registration process. Please be sure to save these for later use.

Turku UAS user IDs require multi-factor authentication (MFA). Please set up MFA after activating your user ID.

More information on registering your user ID:

  • The ID service requires authentication with Finnish online banking credentials or mobile certificate, or a foreigners’ identifier. Read more on registering your user ID.
  • You can only register your user ID once your Open UAS study right is valid. The study right will be valid a few working days after you have been accepted on a course. You will receive a separate e-mail notification of acceptance.
  • If the registeration is not successful immediately, try again later. If you still can’t activate your user ID as instructed, please contact IT Services: servicedesk@turkuamk.fi

2

Start your studies on campus or online

Once your enrolment has been accepted and you have registered your Turku UAS user ID, it’s time to start your studies by attending your first meeting or by logging in to the online learning environment.

Attend the first meeting

If your course includes on campus or online meetings, you can find the exact times and locations in the timetable by entering your course code. See more detailed instructions: Timetables.

Log in to the online learning environment

If your course uses an online learning environment, it is itslearning unless otherwise stated in the course description. Log in to itslearning with your Turku UAS user ID (HAKA login). You can find your course on the home page.

Log in to itsLearning

  • If you enrolled on a nonstop course, the course material will be available on itsLearning within a few working days of your enrolment being accepted. You can start when it suits you best and proceed according to the instructions in the course material at your own pace. Your study right is valid until the end of the current semester.

3

Log in to your student email

When you register your Turku UAS user ID, you will also get a Turku UAS student email. As an Open UAS student, you may receive important information in your student email concerning your study right or course contents.

Log in to your student email account with your Turku UAS user ID. Use your student e-mail (address ending with edu.turkuamk.fi) as the username.

Log in to your student email.

  • If you are taking a nonstop course, you do not need to log in to your Turku UAS email account – all the information you need is available on itslearning.
  • If you already use the same log in address for another organisation email, use a private browsing window (e.g. incognito window on Chrome), or change the user account in your email folder when logging in to your student account.

When your studies end, your study right ends at the end of the current semester (31 December in autumn and 31 July in spring) at the latest.

When your study right ends, your Turku UAS user ID will also expire. Please be sure to copy and save any files stored on Turku UAS systems that you want to keep.
