Rolling admission to Bachelor’s degree programmes
Rolling admission is Turku UAS’ own separate application process that gives an applicant an opportunity to apply directly to a degree programme with SAT test scores or spesified certificates. The applicants who satisfy all the admission criteria will be accepted in the order that they have submitted their complete application.
The number of study places is limited. Once the study places have been filled, new applicants cannot be accepted.
Offered degree programmes for August 2025 intake:
- Bachelor of Business Administration, Business Administration
- Bachelor of Engineering, Biotechnology
- Bachelor of Engineering, Energy and Environmental Engineering
- Bachelor of Engineering, Industrial Management and Engineering
- Bachelor of Engineering, Information and Communications Technology
- Bachelor of Engineering, Mechanical Engineering
- Bachelor of Social Services, Early Childhood Education (FULL)
Application period: 1 November 2024 – 15 May 2025

- You can apply only to one degree programme and you can submit only one application in the same application period.
- Please note: The Ministry of education and culture has prepared changes in legislation considering application fees for applicant to degree programmes in higher education. Changes in the legislation considering application fees for applicants to degree programmes in higher education enters into force 1 December 2024. Read more about the changes in legislation.
- Study places will be filled based on the order in which complete applications are received from eligible applicants. An application is considered complete when Turku UAS has received the online application and all required documents.
Eligibility requirements: General eligibility according to the UAS legislation (25 §). Also discretionary selection is used in this application when applying with SAT test scores.
Required documents from all applicants. Documents to be attached on the application form:
- A copy of a valid passport or official identity card.
- A copy of an official translation in Finnish, Swedish or English is required if the original identity card is not written in any of these languages. Translation must be signed and stamped by an authorized translator.
- Other required documents depend on the selection method. Please see further information below.
Selection methods
You can apply in Turku UAS’ rolling admission with SAT test scores OR with the following certificates:
1. Application process with SAT test scores
You can be accepted with the SAT test scores if you have taken or will take the SAT test fulfilling the minimum requirements and the scores are available in College Board database for Turku University of Applied Sciences by the given deadline.

Turku UAS requires you to take the SAT test which includes Reading and Writing test and Math test.
- A minimum score of 400 from Reading and Writing, and 400 from Math is required for to be considered for admission to Turku UAS Bachelor’s degree programmes.
- Only the new SAT (taken after March 2016) is accepted.
Study places will be filled based on the order in which complete applications are received from eligible applicants. An application is considered complete when Turku UAS has received the online application and all required documents including SAT test scores directly from the College Board. You will be notified of the selection result as soon as you have submitted the required documents and SAT test scores, and your application has been processed. We will process the applications usually within 2 weeks from receiving the SAT test scores.
Please, follow these steps:
- Register and take the SAT test: Check the dates and deadlines (College Board website)
- Submit the SAT test scores: The official SAT result report must arrive to Turku UAS directly from the test organizer College Board by 30 May 2025.

- The code for Turku University of Applied Sciences is 6867.
- Reports printed or sent by the applicant him/herself are not acceptable.
- If you have already taken the SAT test, please attach the SAT Score Report PDF downloaded from the College Board portal to the application form. In addition, you must order an official SAT score report from the test organizer to be delivered straight to the Turku University of Applied Sciences by the given due date.
2. Application process with certificate-based student selection (India and Vietnam) + English language certificate
You can be accepted in certificate-based selection only if you have one of the below-mentioned degree certificates fulfilling the minimum requirements and one of the required English language certificates.
Please, note: The copies of required certificates must be attached to the application form by the end of the application period.
Required degree certificate
One of the following upper secondary degree certificates / diplomas:
- All India Senior School Certificate (AISSC) from Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) or Indian School Certificate (ISC) from Council for the Indian School Certificate (CISCE) with the minimum requirements:
- GPA 60 % or higher
- English 60 % or higher
- Mathematics or Economics 60 % or higher
- Vietnamese High School Graduation Diploma with the minimum requirements (12th grade transcript of records):
- GPA 6.5 or higher
- English 7.0 or higher
- Mathematics 7.0 or higher
The following documents must be attached to the application form:
- A copy of the final degree certificate / diploma and final transcript of records / marks statement. Also temporary certificate of graduation is accepted if the final grades/marks are available.
- A copy of an official translation in Finnish, Swedish or English is required if the original document is not written in any of these languages. Translation must be signed and stamped by an authorized translator.
- An affidavit of name change if necessary.
- Applicants with a different name in their diploma/degree certificate and current passport must submit an affidavit of their name change. Affidavit is not required from applicants whose name has not changed after their diploma/degree certficate has been granted.
Required English language certificate
One of the following English language certificates:
- English language test results:
- IELTS Academic: a minimum total score of 6.0 (Test sections: Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking)
- TOEFL Academic (iBT): a minimum total score of 60 (Test sections: Reading, Listening, Speaking, and Writing)
- PTE Academic: a minimum total score of 55 (Test sections: Speaking and Writing, Reading, and Listening)
- Cambridge C1 Advanced: a minimum total score of 169 (Test sections: Reading and Use of English, Writing, Listening, and Speaking)
- Cambridge C2 Proficiency: a minimum total score of 169 (Test sections: Reading and Use of English, Writing, Listening, and Speaking)
- National Certificate of Language Proficiency (YKI) English: Grade 4 or higher on all the subtests (speaking, listening comprehension, writing, and reading comprehension)
- Higher education degree completed in English in an EU/EEA country, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Switzerland, United Kingdom, or the United States
- Upper secondary degree completed in English in an EU/EEA country, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Switzerland, United Kingdom, or the United States
- One of the following grades in the Matriculation Examination completed in Finland, European Baccalaureate, International Baccalaureate or Reifeprüfung/DIA:
- Matriculation Examination completed in Finland: English advanced syllabus with a minimum grade C
- International Baccalaureate completed in English
- International Baccalaureate diploma: grade 4 in higher level English
- European Baccalaureate: at least grade 6.00 in L2-level English
- Reifeprüfung/DIA completed diploma: at least grade 7 in advanced English
When the admission result will be published?
You will be notified of the selection result as soon as you have submitted the required certificates and your application has been processed. We will process the applications usually within 2 weeks from receiving the required certificates and scores.
Tuition fee
There will be a tuition fee applicable to students who are not citizens of countries of the European Union (EU), European Economic Area (EEA) or Switzerland. To register as an attending student for the academic year 2025-2026, the accepted applicant must pay the tuition fee through Flywire within two weeks from receiving the admission letter. 2. Application process with certificate-based student selection (India, Vietnam and China) + English language certificate
You can be accepted in certificate-based selection only if you have one of the below-mentioned degree certificates fulfilling the minimum requirements and one of the required English language certificates.

- The number of study places is limited. Once the study places have been filled, new applicants cannot be accepted.

In addition to the qualification outside Finland that provides eligibility for higher education studies (university level) in the awarding country, also a higher education degree (Bachelor/Master/Doctor level) completed outside Finland gives the eligibility to apply.
Required documents
Documents to be attached on the application form:
1. A copy of a valid passport. Also an expired passport is accepted if its validity has expired on 1 November 2023 or later. The applicant has to be identifiable on the passport’s picture.
2. A copy of a final degree certificate required for eligibility or an interim certificate on graduation issued by the educational institution.
- Those who graduate after the application period need to attach to the application form the latest transcript of study records or other certificate provided by the learning institution that states the degree/qualification you are completing, the scope of the degree and estimated date of graduation. The certificate should be provided with the official stamp of the educational institution and must be signed and clarified by an educational institution representative including a representative’s title. A copy of the final degree certificate or an interim certificate on graduation issued by the educational institution must be sent by email to admissions@turkuamk.fi by 31 July 2025. The admission is conditional until all required documents are checked.
3. A copy of an official translation in Finnish, Swedish or English is required if the original document is not written in any of these languages. Translation must be signed and stamped by an authorized translator.

Selection method: Online interview
The student selection is made with an online interview. The applicants are invited to the online interview in the order in which complete applications are received from eligible applicants.
We will arrange 1-4 interview rounds between January and May 2025. We will invite
- 150 applicants for Bachelor of Business Administration degree programme per interview round,
- 150 applicants for Bachelor of Engineering degree programmes per interview round, and
- 50 applicants for Bachelor of Social Services degree prgramme per interview round.
The online interviews are arranged at the following times:
- 1st round on 13-17 January 2025
- 2nd round on 3-7 February 2025
- 3rd round on 3-11 March 2025
- 4th round on 5-9 May 2025
The invitations to the online interviews will sent by email to the applicants 1 week before the interview day at the latest. Please follow also the junk email folder (and all other folders) regularly.
When the admission results will be published?
You will be notified of the selection result by email within 2 weeks from the interview.
Tuition fee
There will be a tuition fee applicable to students who are not citizens of countries of the European Union (EU), European Economic Area (EEA) or Switzerland. To register as an attending student for the first academic year, the accepted applicant must pay the tuition fee through Flywire within two weeks from receiving the admission letter. Application period: 18 July 2024 (8 am Finnish time) – 25 July 2024 (3 pm Finnish time)
- Fill in the online application form during the application period: (the form is available when the application period is ongoing)
- You can fill only one application and apply to 1-4 degree programmes with the same application form.
- You need to place the degree programmes in order of your preference. The order of preference is binding and you cannot change it after the application period. You can be accepted only to the highest degree programme on your application for which your selection points are sufficient.

Selection method: Online interview
We will invite a limited number of eligible applicants to an online interview (max 3 x study places). The selection for the online interview is made by automatic lottery if necessary. To be invited to the interview, the applicant must submit all required documents on the application form by the given deadline (see the list above).
The online interviews are arranged in August 2024. The invitations to the online interviews will sent by email to the applicants 1 week before the interview day at the latest. Please follow also the junk email folder (and all other folders) regularly.
The degree programmes’ online interviews are conducted in co-operation which means that you will participate only in one online interview even if you have applied to several degree programmes.
When the admission results will be notified?
The admission results of the online interview selection are published by 13 September 2024.

Information for Applicants
What means one study place per term provision?
One study place per term provision means, that student may accept only one offer admission to a study programme leading to a higher education degree in Finland in education that begins in the same academic term. This rule applies to all higher education.
The provision also applies to all separate applications, with the exception of transfer applications.

Requirements on health and functional capacity
If you plan to apply for a study programme leading to a degree in the fields of social services and health care, you have to assess your own suitability to the field already at the application stage, on the basis of your health and functional capacity. Read more
Request for rectification
In case you feel that a mistake has occurred in the student selection and the decision has not been made according to the admission criteria, he/she can make a written request for rectification. Read more

Tuition fees and scholarships
Please note that non-EU/EEA students who start their studies in Bachelor’s or Master’s degree programmes offered in English are required to pay tuition fees.
