Jobs, practical trainings and theses

We’re here to help you when you need a skilled worker to join your team. Harness the skills of university students to meet your company’s needs, strengthen your employer image and give your students valuable work experience at the same time.

Advertise in JobTeaser

Through the JobTeaser recruitment portal, companies and organisations can advertise their job, practical training and thesis vacancies to students. The portal is free to use.

On the JobTeaser portal, a company can choose whether to create:

a company profile, giving the company/organisation more visibility among students. The profile is visible even if there are no vacancies at the moment.

OR

a recruitment profile, where you can only submit an advertisement for a vacancy.

Creating a business profile

  • Create a company profile or log in to JobTeaser
  • Create a profile for your company. You can also submit an advertisement for a vacancy straight away or do it later.
  • If you choose to also make an advertisement, it will be checked and published within 1-2 working days.

Creating a recruitment profile

If you have any problems, you can contact rekry@turkuamk.fi or our experts directly.

If necessary, we can also help you with the design of the advertisement and/or the recruitment process. This service is subject to a fee. We are happy to answer your questions and tell you more about our services.

Social and health care traineeships

Job advertisements for traineeships in the social and health sector are mainly transmitted via Jobiil. However, advertisements for summer or part-time jobs should be submitted to JobTeaser.

Work placements included in your studies

The Bachelor’s degree includes a compulsory traineeship of between 30 and 120 credits (approximately 4.5 to 18 months or 100 to 400 working days), depending on the degree. The traineeship is carried out in one or more parts during the studies and can also be carried out abroad. Traineeships and their modalities, contracts, etc. vary from one degree to another.

Students applying for a traineeship will know the practices related to their training and will be able to identify the person responsible for the traineeship in their field at the university of applied sciences, who will be able to give you more information if necessary.

The aim of the traineeship is to familiarise the student with the tasks of the future profession and to learn how to apply the knowledge and skills acquired during their studies in the field. The traineeship is supported by a supervising teacher from the UAS and a supervisor appointed by the placement site. The placement site is responsible for providing the necessary equipment (e.g. software licences and tools) and supervision at the placement site. The level of the tasks involved in the traineeship must be progressively more demanding as the student’s skills develop.

The student is responsible for finding the placement and is responsible for the preparation of the placement information and, if necessary, the contracts and the communication between the placement and the school. If the traineeship is paid, the salary is agreed between the employer and the student, unless the collective agreement in the field specifies the remuneration to be paid to the trainee.

The UAS recommends paying compensation for the work done. If the student is doing an internship in an employment relationship, he or she will sign a written contract of employment with the employer and be insured by the employer. If the internship is unpaid, an internship contract is signed instead of an employment contract. In the case of an unpaid traineeship as part of a degree, the student is entitled to social benefits for the traineeship (even in summer) and is covered by the institution’s accident insurance. In order to be covered by the insurance, the student must submit the internship contract to the UAS before the start of the internship.

Thesis

The thesis provides an opportunity for the organisation to solve practical challenges and develop its operations with new knowledge and expertise. A work-based research problem or development need is the starting point for a thesis. The thesis may be a market research project, a service or product development project, a process improvement project or any other strategic project of topical interest to the organisation.

Our expert teachers support students throughout the process, ensuring that the end result is of high quality and meets both academic and professional requirements. The client will gain up-to-date knowledge and new perspectives to support their business, while supporting the learning and career development of future professionals.

The scope of the thesis varies according to the field of study, but is at least 15 credits of work-related and business-developing expertise, which corresponds to a workload of about 400 hours. The purpose of the thesis is to produce new knowledge that will serve the company in solving practical challenges or developing new solutions. The thesis will enable the company to improve the functioning of its own organisation and to promote its image as an employer

The thesis is carried out in interaction with the client and the supervisor appointed by the University of Applied Sciences. Turun ammattikorkeakoulu recommends paying compensation for the thesis to the student. Costs and compensation are agreed on a case-by-case basis.

The theses are public.
