Organisation and management

Turku University of Applied Sciences is divided into three teaching faculties and a corporate services department. Operations are managed by the Rector and President, assisted by the executive board. Turku University of Applied Sciences is maintained by Turku University of Applied Sciences Ltd.

The executive board

The executive board, appointed by the Rector and President, assists the Rector in the management of Turku UAS. The executive board also coordinates and develops common policies within Turku UAS. The executive board member are the Rector and President (chairperson), Vice Rector, Director of Services, Director of Finance and Administration and Deans.

Our organisational changes as of 1.1.2025

Organisational changes:

Juha Kontio will become the new vice rector as of 1.1.2025. He will primarily be responsible for steering and developing educational activities.

The Faculty of Engineering and Business will be divided into three faculties. The new faculties and their deans will start on 1.1.2025.

The shareholders of Turku UAS

The shareholders of Turku University of Applied Sciences Ltd are the City of Turku (91%), the City of Salo (6%) and the University of Turku (3%).

The Board of Turku UAS

The Board of Turku University of Applied Sciences Ltd. Is appointed at the General Meeting. In addition, the composition of the Board is regulated by the Act on Universities of Applied Sciences.

The duties of the Board are regulated by the Limited Liability Companies Act, the Act on Universities of Applied Sciences and the Regulations of Turku UAS. The Board is responsible for the appropriate organisation and administration of the company’s operations.

The Chair of the Board is Niko Aaltonen and the Vice-Chair of the Board is Eeva-Johanna Eloranta. The presenting official on the Board is Rector and President Vesa Taatila and the secretary of the Board is Director of Services Sami Savolainen.
